Step 1: Install Simfund VA 5.0
You are allowed to have Simfund VA 5.0 and Simfund VA 3.0 installed on the same computer. We recommend first installing Simfund VA 5.0 before uninstalling any previous versions.
Step 2: Back up old Simfund 3.0 files
It is very important that you back up any old Simfund 3.0 files that have been saved in your local Simfund directory by saving them in a different location. This includes Simfund Project files (*.spf) and any excel files that you may have exporting using Simfund.
Simfund Project Files (*.SPF)
The default location for SPF files is: 'local simfund directory\project\'
** When saving your SPF files, you must also save the supporting .CDX and .FPT files of the same name. For example, if you have a project file called "Project01", you must back up Project01.spf AND Project01.cdx AND Project01.fpt.
Exported Files (*.XLS)
The default location for SPF files is: 'local simfund directory\export\'
We have listed the defaul locations for these files but please not that they may have been saved anywhere in the local Simfund directory. We recommend conducting a search for these files if you are not sure where they exist.
Once you've found your old Simfund files, we recommend moving them to a location that you can easily remember and can navigate to using Simfund VA 5.0.
